Nintendo profit could triple this Christmas
Nintendo hasnât had the best past few years, often dropping several million dollars worth every three months, but in the last couple of quarters itâs seen a resurgence, thanks to strong 3DS sales and a promising injection of interest and sales of the Wii U due to Mario Kart 8 reviewing strongly and being well received by the gaming community.
With Super Smash Bros now available too and selling and reviewing well also, alongside the release of Nintendoâs Amiibo line, Nintendo is now being projected by some analysts, to increase its profits by a full 300 per cent this Christmas.
Early projections suggest that it could sell as many as 3.6 million Wii U systems and between that an Amiibo sales, it could bring in over a billion dollars this year. That could give Nintendo a massive boost and would keep the Wii U as the second most popular of the new-gen systems, ahead of Microsoftâs much more powerful Xbox One.
While weâll have to wait and see how the next few weeks play out to really find out how Nintendoâs Christmas and New Year will be, just look at how popular certain products are already. Around the world thereâs shortages of the official Wii U Gamecube adaptor, that allows players to use their old Gamecube controllers on the Wii U.
Thereâs also shortages of Wii Us and the new Smash Bros game in the UK, as well as specific Amiiboâs selling out at certain major retailers.
How do you guys think Nintendo will shape up in the new year if it gets that many new systems out there?
