Nvidia présente les premiers moniteurs G-Sync compatibles HDR

On the first day of Computex Nvidia not only promised continuing advancements in its graphics card technology over the next year, but also showed off a new range of HDR supporting G-Sync monitors from the likes of Asus and Acer.

Originally shown off at CES earlier this year, these displays should be in greater numbers at Computex and are fully functioning too. HDR is an important feature in gaming right now, as alongside 4K resolution, it’s one of the main reasons people are upgrading their displays. The new range of high-refresh rate, frame-synching, HDR supporting monitors will be very attractive to those looking for something new.

Although Nvidia nor its partners have detailed how expensive the new monitors will be, it’s probably safe to say that they won’t be cheap. With all of those features packed inside their plastic shell, they’ll cost a pretty penny – G-Sync has typically been the more expensive frame synching feature, but that’s often the price you pay for being an Nvidia customer. While AMD hardware has typically been weaker in performance and less efficient, it’s often been more affordable than the alternative.

Of course though, that could all change this year. While Nvidia still remains the king of the graphics hill for now, with AMD’s Vega graphics cards on the horizon, it’s possible that it could steal the top spot.
