Rumored Playstation 3 Appears In Blu-Ray Ad

Sony declined to comment on the rumored 40GB Playstation 3 but it has made two official appearances this week.

Earlier this week, Sony presented a new Playstation model to be approved by FCC (Federal Communications Commission). As per Sony's request, FCC withheld most of the new console's tech documents; but we know that it the new model is CECHG01.

According to what little info FCC released, Playstation 3 model CECHG01 will feature Bluetooth 2.0+EDR; 802.11b/g WiFi; a 3.2GHz CPU clock speed just like other PS3s; 66MHz ATA, 133MHz ATA, 33MHz PCI and 750MHz SATA1; and a bevy of ports including USB, HDMI, and Ethernet.

Today, an ad for five free Blu-ray movies BluraySavings.com listed the new model (CECHG01) along with the current models on market (the 60GB CECHA01 and 80GB CECHE01) as Blu-ray players that qualify for the promotion.

The coupon is valid until 31 January 2008 which confirms our expectations that the new Playstation 3 model will be released by the time for Christmas.

Bluraysavings.com has modified the aforementioned advertisement and removed all Playstation 3 model numbers from it. Both old and new advertisements are available through the écrans tabulation.
