La suite de Shaq Fu sortira finalement en juin
The sequel to the original â90s â much hated â beat âem up, Shaq Fu, Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn, is actually going to be released after all. Following a four year wait since its original Kickstarter, the game is going to hit PC, PS4, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch in June. Although originally slated for a âspringâ release, thatâs now been pushed back for no apparent reason.
The original Shaq Fu was not a beloved game and nobody ever really asked for a sequel. The only real discussion about it came from video retrospectives like the Angry Video Game Nerd who attacked the game for its terrible gameplay, controls and crazy premise. Apparently, that was enough to trigger the âmember berries and now we have a Shaq Fu sequel that is just a couple of months away from release.
The game will blend hand-drawn cartoon cut scenes with side-scrolling beatâem up action, along with power ups, coin collecting, boss fights and a tonne of celebrity cameos. Apparently.
The big get though of course, is that Shaquille OâNeal has voiced and somewhat scored the game, with some of his original rap tracks â and some new ones â acting as backing tracks for the punching, kicking and stomping experience.
Itâs going to be silly, ridiculous and probably not that fun to play. The question is, will the nostalgia allow for this game to become successful?
