Valve Blames Xbox LIVE Patch Rules For Ruining Team Fortress 2

Valve CEO Gabe Newel blamed admitted Microsoft's Xbox LIVE patch rules for the lack of updates to the Xbox 360 Team Fortress 2 which he believes is killing the game and making it inferior to its PC counterpart.

"We thought that there would be something that would emerge," he said of Microsoft's update restrictions, "because we figured it was a sort of untenable... 'Oh yeah, we understand that these are the rules now, but it's such a train wreck that something will have to change.'"

"TF2 on the PC side has delivered a huge amount of value, but we've screwed up on the other side," lead designer Erik Johnson added.

Why do Valve charge for

Why do Valve charge for addons on the XBOX? Why, because microsoft won't let them give it away for free, there are a few quotes floating around about Valves attempts to get some stuff up for free on the 360, they let them do 1 DLC for L4D free, but nothing since.

It's not Xbox Live's fault it's inferior......

It's the Xbox's. The PC counterpart is superior by virtue of the fact that it is a PC counterpart. The same game on the PC will always be better. Faster & prettier w/a keyboard & mouse, can't fucking beat it w/a dumb console. What you need patches on a console for anyway huh Valve? I thought consoles were supposed to work right the first time? Or @ least after the RROD fucks off.


Obviously. Because the class packs contains achievements, and Gamerscore on the xbox is serious business. I mean, if you don't have more than 50,000 GS you can simply gtfo. And FREE gamescore (achievements) is totally out of question.
And on top of that you have to pay for it, and Valve havn't forced you to pay for the packs on the PC/Mac, why would they do that on the xbox?
