Corsair Cove challenges players to think vertically rather than just outward, since cliff-faces and hilltops offer just as much building space as flat ground. Bridges, ziplines, and other contraptions connect production buildings scattered across chasms and cliffs, and moving goods efficiently between them can mean the difference between a thriving settlement and a collapsing economy. Manufacturing chains cover everything from spyglasses and cannons to rum and clothing, with over 50 different goods feeding a growing, increasingly demanding pirate population.

Beyond the island itself, players can build ships and send crews out to explore uncharted waters, raid neighboring islands, and take on legendary pirate myths like krakens and monstrous whales. Society develops along four distinct paths, Fame, Empire, Seafaring, and Wealth, each unlocking its own buildings, ships, and questlines. Turn-based naval battles determine the outcome of encounters with the Crown’s pirate hunters, while defensive fortifications protect the cove whenever the fleet sails off in search of plunder.
