Skate Story is not about high scores. Instead, it explores the fragility of existence through the lens of a kickflip. You play as a demon made of glass and pain. The Devil himself tasks you to skate to the moon and swallow it whole. Consequently, the entire game feels like a fever dream. It strips away the punk-rock attitude of Tony Hawk. Then, it replaces that vibe with a surreal journey through the underworld. Here, shattering your body is simply the cost of missing a landing.

Atmospheric Progression: You descend through nine layers of hell. As you do, the environment shifts from brutalist concrete to psychedelic voids. Meanwhile, a hypnotic soundtrack pulses in time with your pushes.
