FromSoft réduit le boss final de Shadow of the Erdtree

Did you beat Elden Ring — Shadow of the Erdtree‘s final boss? Well you can be seriously proud of yourself, as FromSoft is dropping the nerfhammer on this perfidious foe, as it’s clear the company believes the boss is overpowered.

Spoilers for Shadow of the Erdtree follow from this point on, so if you haven’t beaten the DLC and want to do so unspoiled, stop reading from here. Just be sure it’ll be a tad easier than it was before.

It’s no secret that Elden Ring is a difficult game, but by all accounts, the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree took that difficulty to a new level. On release in June of this year, players immediately noted how tough the one and only DLC for Elden Ring really was, with many throwing themselves into the gauntlet time and time again. And from their throne, FromSoft would laugh.

We all knew FromSoft would eventually throw a bone to those mere mortals who couldn’t conquer such a tough challenge, it was just a matter of gauging when they would choose to do it. Well, that time has come, as some hefty nerfs have been inflicted on the final boss of the expansion, Radahn.

He’s notably less of a challenge now, with health and stamina damage reduced, fewer flashy animations that make reading his intent harder, and even his attack range being toned down. In essence, he’s now much more manageable than he was before. Don’t get us wrong; he’s still going to be tough for most people, but those lucky few who managed to beat him before patch 1.14 are going to feel very smug indeed. As they should; “get good” is the motto of the Soulslike communities, and it’s highly likely that any dedicated players who failed to beat him before these changes is going to feel some shame. As for the rest of us? We’re just happy we don’t have to batter our heads against a brick wall quite as much.
