No Paid DLC Or Micro-Transactions Planned For Need For Speed
Need For Speed may have lost a lot of its mojo in the last few years, and it looks like EA is determined to make all the right choices for the upcoming series reboot.
According to the Need For Speed FAQ the game will receive “a series of free content updates,” with no plans for any paid DLC or micro-transactions. Additionally, all the cars in the game will be unlocked from the start, requiring the player only to earn enough in-game money to purchase them.
But it is not all moonlight and roses. For one, the game requires persistent internet connection even for the single player campaign, and the console versions will run at a locked 30 fps frame rate. Additionally, the game doesn’t support split screen multiplayer.
Need for Speed is set in a “rich open world with approximately twice the amount of drivable roads than NFS Rivals.” The game will be released on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on November 3rd, 2015 while the PC version have been pushed back to Spring 2016 to allow time for more performance tuning.
