Blizzard: Diablo III End Game Content Sucks

As if the plethora of technical problems and questionable design decisions that plagued Diablo III since day one weren’t enough to ruin Blizzard’s good reputation; the company admitted today that Diablo III’s end-game content failed to keep players entertained enough to keep on playing.

A Blizzard rep posted on the game’s official forum admitting the situation and recognizing that they don’t have any clue about how to fix that in the near future.

The full post reads as follows:

"We recognize that the item hunt is just not enough for a long-term sustainable end-game. There are still tons of people playing every day and week, and playing a lot, but eventually they're going to run out of stuff to do (if they haven't already).

"Killing enemies and finding items is a lot of fun, and we think we have a lot of the systems surrounding that right, or at least on the right path with a few corrections and tweaks. But honestly Diablo III is not World of Warcraft. We aren't going to be able to pump out tons of new systems and content every couple months. There needs to be something else that keeps people engaged, and we know it's not there right now.

"We're working toward 1.0.4, which we're really trying to pack with as many fixes and changes we can to help you guys out (and we'll have a bunch of articles posted with all the details as we get closer), and we're of course working on 1.1 with PvP arenas. I think both those patches will do a lot to give people things to do, and get them excited about playing, but they're not going to be a real end-game solution, at least not what we would expect out of a proper end-game. We have some ideas for progression systems, but honestly it's a huge feature if we want to try to do it right, and not something we could envision being possible until well after 1.1 which it itself still a ways out.

I could have told you this weeks ago. I have friends that still play and love the item grind but find it boring. I have so many other games to play then jumping back on diablo 3 to grind for crap item on inferno. In all honesty, I moved on after they cut attack speed by 50%. Weren't they beta testing for years? A huge cut like that nerfed my wizard and I decided to find something else to sink my time into. Just to survive in inferno I'd have to invest hours of my time grinding for different/better loot. Not all that much fun.

Waste of money

Just over Blizzard now , this is the last game i buy from them , been such a waste of money and time.D3 wasn't long or hard at all just plain - farm your items , then once you have your items then what ???? PvP dont make me laugh that is a shit idea.Blizzard is falling very far cant wait to see what they pull out next.

Lets face it. Blizzard has us

Lets face it. Blizzard has us gamers by the balls and squeezes it when ever they bring a game out. Unless us gamers can make our own games, we a fucked in the ass by the game devs. I myself think D3 is not a bad game, but could have been so much more. Instead we get a Diablo 2.5. A game we've seen already in the past. They braught nothing really new except for the RMAH which has gotten mixed reviews. I personally like the RMAH because it brings some realism to the game. Sure it can seem unfair because it caters to the rich, but most gamers would be hard pressed to actually use real money to buy items. I think if you stick with just using gold and not money to buy these items, you will have stuck it to Blizzard that not all gamers are that desperate. This is a chance for us gamers to shut Blizzard down by not playing their game. We need to show Blizzard that we are in control of the gaming future and that they need to make games that we want. We have a choice, we can buy games that are good or bad. Our dollar has weight and a say in what we deem good or bad. I hope the next game Blizzard comes out with, will be what most gamers want and not take 10 fucking years for it to come out. But knowing Blizzard i'll be old and grey when the next Blizzard game comes out.

How the hell does RMAH bring

How the hell does RMAH bring realism to the game? The only thing it does is to take you out of the immersion of the game. Even the normal AH does that. If you really wanna "stick it" to blizzard, stop buying their games and support other devs instead.

Have you even played D3?

Have you even played Diablo 3? No one is complaining that it's "a game we've seen already in the past". I haven't once seen that complaint and I've read a LOT of complaints about the game. Take one look at the forums. The problem with Diablo 3 is they destroyed the loot system, the difficulty is frustrating and confines people to strict gear and ability choices, and the AH was a terrible idea (both of them)

There's also nothing wrong with games taking so long to create, that's how Blizzard has been able to maintain such high quality products.

Somehow I don't think you've gotten very far in to the game.

i havent logged in in over a month im kind of afraid too. i have had 5 of my friends get hacked. feels like i paid all the money for nothing.

This is the most biased article of all time

"As if the plethora of technical problems and questionable design decisions that plagued Diablo III since day one weren’t enough to ruin Blizzard’s good reputation"

lol fuck you Megagames whoever is writing these Diablo articles is so fucking pathetically unprofessional. Each one is filled with cringeworthy exaggerations and ridiculous bias.

i'm done

i'm still playing it, but not like i was. i've been 60 for awhile and just to gear up resists to the ponit to survive alittle of inferno, is rediculous. greedy bastards putting that gear on AH for 50+million gold for ONE PIECE !! so unless you run a bot, if there is one, or you have a ton of extra $ to buy gold farmers gold to buy your gear, or spend $250 for rediculously under powered gear, then you may as well not even play.

I'm am NOT leveling another toon. there is no point. The few things they did right in this game are immensely overshadowed by all the things they fucked up. I'm getting my bachelors in game design, 2 yrs left, i've used D3 in alot of my analysis assignments...usually for BAD design aspects.

Diablo III Meh

I prefer Torch Light, or Titan quest, Spending $60 dollars on Diablo 3 was just a waste. Hell I beat the game once. I did not even feel remotely satisfied at all, nore wanted to keep playing. Actually I wish I didn't spend 60 dollars on a game so hyped up.

"But honestly Diablo III is

"But honestly Diablo III is not World of Warcraft." I just love that part.. Read it again. Ok, now read it again. You know what? They designed it to be like WoW. RMAH was supposed to be an alternate version of subscription. These idiots actually tried to make a single player game MMO style.

No kidding? Friggin idiots. The best part of D2 was just running diablo/baal, or the cow level over and over and over again. They did as much as possible to kill that in D3 and they are confused as to why people aren't playing after they hit 60? AH should never have been put in the game, all it's done is get flooded with items. Then Blizz went and nerfed drops all to crap. Idiots

Diablo 3 sold: 1 week = 1,657,076 copies 2 week= 287,729 copies 3 week= 103,086 copies 4 week= 93,002 copies 5 week= 98,266 copies 6 week= 97,835 copies ========================= 2,336,994 copies ....they already squeezed $140.219.640 from our pockets for this shit... ....but after the first week...their sells...dropped to nowhere....

This happens when game makers want to scam people selling a MORPG with few content and bad story as single player hack and slash most popular successor.

@Srsly. I kind of feel you, paying almost 10 euros more than a "normal game" and you're given a half assed job of a game (no insults intended). I was hyped about this game and that was before I heard the always online drm. That was the deal breaker for me and now just a couple months after release so many problems. As far as criticism goes, I'll gladly play D2 over D3 even with hacks, dupes and god knows whatever and yet It's better than a *once again* half assed game. I'm in regret for spending 45euros on SC2. The last thing they have to do now is release the last 2 pieces of SC2 with a full price tag and Blizzard can go blow themselves up. Greedy bastards.

If you came here

If you came here to tell everyone that you got your $60 worth, kindly F-OFF. Blizzard promised a game that would be fun to play (it was -- briefly), feature prominent PvP (it doesn't have it at all), and would be viable to play long after reaching level 60 (it's not).

Instead, they delivered mediocrity tailored to maximizing profits, in particular by manipulating drop rates in order to increase prices on the RMAH. Blizzard is not the company they were in 2000. They are a single-minded corporate driven money-making behemoth, There is nothing wrong with that, except that those companies make games designed to make them money, not games designed to deliver players a great experience and extensive replayability.

Wish I could get my money back. None of my 15 or so friends that started playing this game in May still play it. Not one kept playing more than 6 weeks. If you haven't bought it yet, avoid it like the plague.
