Diablo III Was An MMO Originally

During his speech at I.Eat.Games, Runic Games CEO Max Schafer revealed that Diablo III was originally conceived as an MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) game.

Shafer was the co-founder of Blizzard North, the studio that created Diablo I and II before he left and found Runic.

“When I was working at Blizzard a million years ago we were working on Diablo III and it was an MMO. We were going to do the Diablo version of World of Warcraft,” he said. “Blizzard obviously changed that pretty quickly, so we left to start Flagship Studios and we brought in a lot of the guys, so they rebooted with their own team.”

Just wow blizard wowwwwwwwww

How could they not do this? Diablo 3 was good but after you finish Inferno there is nothing left or more for the game. Just farm for items and then what? I was thinking why didnt they make it a MMO so we could play with heaps of friends online always have things to do and have PVP so game will have timeless game time.

WOW i can barely belive this i hate wow i loved diablo if they would of put out a *ucking diablo version of wow, it would of been the most dissapointing thing ever, i HATE WOW, i would of never bought diablo 3 if it was a mmo, and already i think too much *ucking options of diablo 3 come straight from WOW, WHY THE HELL DID THEY RUIN THE BEST GAME ON EARTH WITH SOME FUCKING WOW ASSETS

They didn't change the

They didn't change the original project.Diablo 3 is still an MMO. They are selling it as a single user experience...deliberately deceiving their customers. People have to stop to buy this shit..or single player games will die in a couple of years...or they will survive just in portable devices.
