Razer dévoile le premier ordinateur portable multi-moniteur au monde

Razer today revealed “Project Valerie,” the world’s first gaming laptop with 3 built-in monitors.

The laptop sports three 17.3-inch 4K IGZO screens that support NVIDIA G-SYNC technology and are capable of producing 100 percent Adobe RGB color accuracy for creative professionals. The three screens are deployed automatically using a mechanical slide mechanism which ejects the 2 secondary screens from the sides of the primary one and adjusts them into place.

Aside from the 3 monitors gimmick, Project Valerie has the same hardware as the 17-inch Razer Blade Pro which sports an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card and exceeds the minimum hardware requirements for HTC Vive and Oculus Rift. The laptop is incased in a unibody CNC aluminum chassis that measures just 1.5-inches thick and weighs less than 12 pounds.

Project Valerie looks to be well designed, but it still feels like an answer for an unasked question or a solution to a problem nobody had. Multi-monitor support has been available for a long time on PC, but it didn’t gain much momentum due to its limited value when compared to its setup hassle; not to mention the significant frame rate drop which occurs when running at triple the resolution. What do you think? Would having a hassle-free three monitor setup be worth the extra cost and the reduced graphics?
