Crysis 3 Minimum and Recommended Specs Revealed

Crysis 3

"Can it run Crysis?" was the question on every overclocker, benchmarker and gamer's lips when it came to testing out their newly built system. With subsequent offerings, better coding and big jumps in graphics card performance meant that the game series stopped being the be all and end all in benchmarking. However, with the release of the minimum and recommended specs for upcoming Crysis 3, we could be asking that famous question one again.

However, don't fret if you're running an older system. Crysis 3 has some perfectly viable minimum specs, even for older systems:

  • Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
  • DirectX 11 graphics card with 1Gb Video RAM
  • Dual core CPU
  • 2GB Memory (3GB on Vista)
  • Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel):
  • Nvidia GTS 450, Intel Core2 Duo 2.4 Ghz (E6600)
  • Example 2 (AMD):
  • AMD Radeon HD5770, AMD Athlon64 X2 2.7 Ghz (5200+)

Things ramp up a bit with the recommended specs, but still, a lot of gamers should fit into this category. You'll need a quad core CPU, and at least 4GB of RAM:

  • Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
  • DirectX 11 graphics card with 1GB Video RAM
  • Quad core GPU
  • 4GB Memory
  • Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel):
  • Nvidia GTX 560, Intel Core i5-750
  • Example 2 (AMD):
  • AMD Radeon HD5870, AMD Phenom II X4 80
  • Move into "Hi-Performance" PC specs however and only those with deep pockets will find themselves applicable:

    • Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
    • Latest DirectX 11 graphics card
    • Latest quad core CPU
    • SLI / Crossfire configurations will run even better
    • 8GB Memory
    • Example 1 (Nvidia/Intel):
    • NVidia GTX 680, Intel Core i7-2600k
    • Example 2 (AMD):
    • AMD Radeon HD7970, AMD Bulldozer FX4150
    • Which category do you guys fall into?

    So, they are basically

So, they are basically telling us a SLI GTX 260 cant run the game or just one GTX 260? GTX 460 is not much better than that GPU. And consoles are basically DX 9 (nVidia 7800 and ATI 1800 with 256 MB Video RAM)..... wow Crytek, how dumb you guys are.

will it run on a 8800gtx 1GB? have a 2.6 GHZ quad core i7, 4 GB ram and 8800GTX. I know its an old card. want to know if i should upgrade. Am trying to hang on to it till nxt year when more powerful games would launch. Already running some games at 'acceptable' frame rates.

    crysis 3 pawns !

it should run good, but i hope its not as buggy as far cry 3 on release, thou they have released a 1.02 patch for it so here goes, thou all that was needed was to turn one option off to run it silky, before that was, i for one have a quad core 2600k 3.6ghz , 32gb ram , gtx 680 2gb nvidia card with windows 7 and a 3d quad core audio sound card so i should be fine lol in my haf932 tower case to keep it nice n cool :), so iam already for this beauty of a game, shame like gta 5 people have to wait a while, hope this time they made the pc version pc only and console version console only no console porting crap like the last one, untill they were forced to do a dx11 ultra patch which did look nice .
