Dungeon Siege 3 Detailed

Square Enix announced today that it is partnering with Obsidian Entertainment on DUNGEON SIEGE 3. With input from the original developer, Gas Powered Games, Obsidian Entertainment will develop the next incarnation of the DUNGEON SIEGE franchise with Square Enix as the game's publisher. Coming for the first time to high-def home video game consoles, DUNGEON SIEGE 3 will be available for the PlayStation3, the Xbox 360, and Windows PC.

In addition to its arrival on high-def consoles for the first time, the game will also feature an all-new co-op multiplayer mode.

Originally created by Chris Taylor and his critically-acclaimed studio Gas Powered Games, Taylor will serve as an advisor during the development of the game. DUNGEON SIEGE 3 will seamlessly blend intuitive action gameplay and a robust RPG system in an immersive world where every decision the player makes will result in consequences.

On his involvement, Taylor comments, "It has been a great pleasure to collaborate with Obsidian. They are a very talented developer who really knows what it takes to build a deep and engaging RPG experience, and I can't think of a better group to continue the Dungeon Siege series".

Torn asunder, the delicate balance of power between the kingdom of Ehb's powerful factions has fallen apart. As one of the few remaining members of the disgraced protectors of the land, the 10th Legion, it is up to you to rebuild the once great Legion and stop Ehb from falling into darkness. Joined by a group of unique companions, you will travel through the striking land of Ehb defeating all manner of villains and beasts through a combination of heroic abilities, screen shaking magic and fearsome weapons.

DUNGEON SIEGE 3 seamlessly blends intuitive action gameplay, a robust RPG system featuring a large selection of abilities, an extensive multiplayer component and the depth of story Square Enix and Obsidian Entertainment are known for creating.

DS1 was boring as all hell. It just seemed to go on and on and on with a foolish difficulty curve and few compelling story elements. That being said it is not unfair to compare it with wow because its dungeons are almost exactly what raiding is like.

The first Dungeon Siege

.. to be frank the first Dungeon Siege sucked ass where it basically was auto-attack. Nr2 on the other hand improved on its formula and made it playable. And I've played that one more that I've played the two Diablo games combined.

Squar INIX must be dumb as hell to advertise a FIRST TIME COOP MODE. THERE WAS A COOP MODE IN PART ONE IDIOTS.   It was a coop mode that was not LABLED as a coop mode!

WoW and Dungeon Siege......

Dungeon Siege is not an MMO.... was never in the same group as MMOs, and Dungeon Siege 2 didn't fail because of WoW. The LAST thing they want to do is to look to WoW for features. Dungeon Siege has always been more of a Diablo clone with parties. Mounts would be a terrible idea and not the direction they should send the game. Classes would completely abolish the reason Dungeon Siege was unique in the first place. Dungeon Siege 2 was somewhat unsuccessful compared to the original because it lacked a good looting system (which is critical in an action RPG) and just generally didn't improve in the right areas. That's not to say it was a bad game it just could've been a lot better.

The first Dungeon Seige was awesome! The second... well everyone plays WoW... so it didn't match up.If they're gonna hope to do well, it's gonna have to contain what WoW already has eg. mounts/classes etc.   with better graphics and changing gameplay if it's not online! I'm looking forward to what they come up with ;) Cause i miss LAN parties where Dungeon Seige was the main game we ever played.

lan parties

Exactly they had a damn coop mode in part one lol someones a dipstick for advertising that.   Coop was also in multiplayer but you cooperated with people and kill counts were happening and you tried to take lead in kills if you felt like it.
