EA: Sim City Sales Are Solid But Dead Space 3 And Crysis 3 Are Not

During an investors’ call EA discussed the market performance of some of its major titles, revealing that their sales figures are at odds with their critical reception.

According to EA, Crysis 3 and Dead Space 3 sales were disappointing while Sim City performance was surprisingly “solid.”

The company revealed that Sim City sold more than 1.6 million copies to date, but it didn’t share Crysis 3 or Dead Space 3 sales figures.

Crysis 3 reception was mostly positive as hardcore gamers and reviewers regarded its gameplay as mediocre but gave it the graphics quality crown. Dead Space 3 is also one of the best games released this year, even if it was watered down than its predecessors to appeal to wider audience.

On the other hand, Sim City suffered from server connection errors during launch week and disappointed its fans for giving them less freedom and options than previous titles in the series, not to mention the whole always-online DRM fiasco.

Logic

Makes sense I guess. Both FPS are played by teen boys who mostly pirate those games, Sim city is played by old folks of both genders (over 25) :P that does not to that extent bother with pirating if it is work or at least some fences involved.
