Microsoft Apologizes For Xbox One E3 Rape Joke

Microsoft issued an official apology for the rape joke made by one of its producers during Xbox One’s E3 announcement event.

During the demonstration of Killer Instinct, a male producer was matched up against a woman who wasn’t that good at playing the game. At one point the woman complained that "I can't even block correctly, and you're too fast," to which the producer responded that ""Here we go. Just let it happen. It'll be over soon."

And the banter didn’t stop at that. "You have a fight stick," she said. "Wow, you like those," he answered.

Needless to say, a lot of people got offended and hence Microsoft Studios corporate vice president Phil Spencer issued an official apology.

"During the Xbox E3 briefing, one of our employees made an off the cuff and inappropriate comment while demoing 'Killer Instinct' with another employee," he admitted. "This comment was offensive and we apologize. At Microsoft, being open and respectful with others is central to our code of conduct and our values. Bullying and harassment of any kind is not condoned and is taken very seriously. We remain committed to make gaming fun for everyone, and in that effort, we must lead by example."

Are you for real?

Perhaps whoever thought that this was a rape joke, he is subliminally wants to get raped, because he distorts the meaning of the words, by intention he tries all of the time to fit his mindset in words other people say. People are such hypocrites nowadays.

Really...........Microsoft need to apologize for wanne **** us with there: "No trading or giving!, because we don't make money off of that" "Strategy"

what a load of crap !

are you serious with this ?! we all know in a competitve co-op games or any of that sort there is always some bullying and bad mouthing ! it is in human nature !!!!! if it is to offensive go stick to Nintendo ;) shame on microsoft !

Thank you.

You saved me the trouble of stating the obvious. Not even a rape "joke", just bantering back & forth without anything sexual ever being said & sadly some dumber than retarded monkeys that look like people got offended at nothing again. Maybe they're the same idiots that decided it's OK to show people with their faces torn off & legs blown off on Breaking Bad but the word "****" had to be censored when spoken or written on the TV broadcast of the show. Micro$hit is too concerned about their profits to tell them to GFY so they so sorry. They take "bullying" (who the **** is ******* bullying?) so seriously?! Yeah like preventing consumers from doing what they want with their own ****. Forcibly preventing selling/trading/giving a game to someone else. That's ******* bullying right there. Micro$hit, you're the biggest bully in the game you stupid ******* ******* ***** **** *****. Stick a "fight stick" up your greedy **** hole & tell your cry baby idiot customers to do the same.

What did they think would happen if they let a gamer demonstrate a fighting game? Smooth talking? Of course hes going to trash talk his opponent, we all do it. Some more than others...

That's besides the point,

That's besides the point, these guys are supposed to act professional, and probably lost his job after this one. Lol, xbox is so deep in the **** not even a dung beetle can roll them out. MS sure does a great job at alienating its consumers, I'm pretty sure they raised the bar on that one..

How naive

I'm pretty sure the entire thing was staged, maybe not the woman playing but everythign the guy said. They ARE trying to cater to gamers so it makes sense to use a gamer to demonstrate their new box, or does it? Apparently they didn't think this one through.

But Megagames, did anyone

But Megagames, did anyone actually complain about the jokes? Who was it? How credible are the complaints? Are people being too quick to take offense? This are the kinds of questions which actually make stories, instead of just relaying information ya'know.

This clearly wasnt a rape comment , the guy was on about her losing to him at the game, ok he made a bit of an innuendo about the joystick, but its been taking right out of context by the ******* pc brigade!

Excuse me, ? U kno the amount

Excuse me, ? U kno the amount of gals who do play games I mean the real deal, not just sme snake game in a nokia, there shoud not be a splitting of men ans woman, every1 is welcome in gaming, if she sucks, she will definitely be better in time , Surely better than u, no1 was born out with A joystick......why dnt u D MAN go clean every1s toilet and gutter pipes and stick ur finger up ur **** and then stick in ur nose digging for gold and then suck it up..

There starts the grammea

There starts the grammea correction duty by the jobless grammar police. If your so into grammar, let's start with what u wrote, "looks like ur spelling and grammar just fell through the cracks here and there. maybe if u stayed in the kitchen you would not have embarrassed yourself this way..." Where did the capital letter of the first word in your sentence go?, I am referring to the word "looks", and again in your next sentence, the caps is missing in the word "maybe", it should have been a comma and then maybe, or a fullstop and then capital M and a maybe. The next one is when you said the word "u" instead of "you", and the last and the worst mistake, is the "......", what the heck is that? Your old school grammar teacher taught you all this? Too bad I think you should go back to school again. Now that's embarrassing. Oh my! To all you idiots who keeps correcting others grammar, this is the internet, not a professional writing exam. We type fast and we make mistakes or take shortcuts, this is urban chat. Get used to it.
