Despite having a strong lineup of first part PlayStation 3 exclusives such as Killzone 3, LittleBigPlanet and Infamous 2, Sony has criticized platform exclusiveness and warned that it limits the games' marketing potential.
"When you make a title exclusive, you limit its promotional power; we don't want to do that," Sony brand manager Scott McCarthy said. "We want games to be as big as possible -- it's great for the industry. We work very closely with our [third party] publishers, not necessarily to lock down games exclusively, but to lock up exclusive parts of games."
Multiplatform titles with platform exclusive DLC has been on the rise for a while now. Notable examples include the Xbox 360 exclusive Call of Duty and Fallout DLC as well as the PlayStation 3 exclusive Dante's Inferno and Dead Space DLC.

Sony don't want to make consoles no more? Do they want to just make games? Why would i buy another console if one has all the games. Example, I got an 360 and a ps3 now why would i buy a ps3 or any other console for that matter if all the games would be on one.

at least square enix finally saw the light, also Namco has overcome their BS prejudices, at least having those exclusives has brought amazing games like Forza 3 and Halo, although let's not forget all the BS on nintendo.

SqureEnix technically worked with sony & nintendo, the xbox only got 2 of their titles and from what i hear they went back to making exclusives for the ps3 since FF13 didn't do well on the 360.
