Upcoming Rise Of The Tomb Raider Is Xbox Exclusive

In its Gamescom 2014 keynote, Crystal Dynamics announced that its upcoming "Rise of the Tomb Raider" will be released "Exclusively on Xbox" in holiday 2015.

It is still unclear whether this means that the sequel to the 2013's critically acclaimed Tomb Raider reboot will be released on Xbox 360 as well as Xbox One. It is also unclear whether it is going to remain exclusive to Xbox forever or for a specific period.

Following the announcement, Crystal Dynamics Head of Product Development Darrell Gallagher took on to Tumblr to assure PlayStation and PC fans that they are not left out.

"Today's announcement with Microsoft is one step to help us put Tomb Raider on top of action adventure gaming," he said. "Our friends at Microsoft have always seen huge potential in Tomb Raider and have believed in our vision since our first unveil with them on their stage at E3 2011."

"This doesn't mean that we're walking away from our fans who only play on PlayStation or on PC. Those are great systems, with great partners, and amazing communities. We have Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris coming to those platforms this December, and Tomb Raider: The Definitive Edition is available on PS4."

MG is still very late on news as usual. Today M$ admitted that the next TR game was not a permanent exclusive. Oh and before you read it in two days: MGS V is now coming to PC.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't want to believe square enix where becoming Nazis lol Hopefully the other exclusive definitive edition moves from the ps4 as well :P and awesome about mgs 5 as long as its something like £5 it'll sell well

I should point out, the only

I should point out, the only reason im complaining about this is that they have clearly stated they have no intention to release the definitive edition later on the pc or xbox 3, And the same again for the Rise of Tomb Raider It would be ok to do these exclusives to the consoles for a short wile just don't rip the **** like rockstar with gta where they deliberately hold off the pc versions just to re-release it knowing a lot of console users will buy it again.

**** microsoft wankers

microsoft can buy tombraider out for xbox *******one all it wants, no sad ****** is going to buy a **** inferior console to the godlike ps4 or king of kings - the pc, itll sell avg 2.5 million copies, best, why not release it all formats and make 10 million ? if it dont come out on pc some point ill void all tombraiders forever , kinda pointless if you miss one out, square enix are ******* sell outs.

It will more than likely be a

It will more than likely be a timed exclusive and will get a PC release at a later date and the reason for that is a lot of big devs/publishers are in financial straights partly because of the booming indie scene, Microsoft commissions (covers the costs of developing the game) them to make titles for the Xbox thus negating their financial risk, if I want raw power I play my PC for good exclusives I picked the Xbox one as the PS4 had an anemic launch catalog and it hasn't got much better, being Japanese console it is aimed at a demographic not inline with my interests and anyone who purchases a console based on computational power is missing the point of consoles, I hardly play them anyway because for multi platform releases I always prefer PC TL:DR Don't be a ******* fanboi

It's not really about being a

It's not really about being a fanboy, it's more about Microsoft deserving to be boycotted for all the *******moves they have done, and still do toward their customers with their products. I don't feel like listing it all, but there is a shitload. For example, the lack of legacy/third party devices support on the xBox360 compared to the PS3. And the xBox One is even more of a disgrace for multiple reasons. I don't really mind cause I'm not a console gamer much. I got an xBox360 back then because the console was cheaper, and I prefer the stiffness of their analog stick on their controllers. The PS3 controller is of superior quality, and have built-in rechargeable batteries, but the analogs are too loose for my taste. Great for shooters I guess, but I don't play shooters on consoles, I play sports games. And to think they didn't even made the xBox One controllers with default built-in rechargeable batteries, so they can be greedy as always and sell the rechargeable blocks at a premium price separately. There's more reasons to hate Microsoft than there is starts in the sky, figuratively.
