Vince Zampella confirms Titanfall season pass

Get ready to see Titanfall feature a lot of DLC, released in batches over the next couple of years, as Vince Zampella, co-founder of Respawn and Infinity Ward, has now confirmed that the game will feature a season pass system.

That doesn't mean all post-release updates will be paid for only. He was keen to let us know that there will be free content updates, alongside the paid for ones. In his interview with Gamespot, Zampella said:

"There’s things that we want in the game that we didn’t get to ship in the final game, so we’ll add private matches and things like that for free. We’re going to do a season pass just because if you buy it up front, you get a deal. We’re not doing micro-transactions. So, you know, a season pass is just, buy it up front and get a better price."

When asked whether the post release support would be the same for all platforms, he confirmed that the PC and Xbox One would have the same DLC, but that with the Xbox 360 edition - currently being put together by Bluepoint Games - it would be dependent on the game's publisher, EA.

What do you guys think of the season pass model? It makes sense I suppose, but I've never felt comfortable dropping another $30 on a game after I've just paid to play the base version. Maybe further down the line? But then I'm likely to just buy the content packs as they come.

released in batches over the next couple of then it is an incomplete game like the most of them out there. If you are going to charge $60 for the game then give the rest of it free since people already payed for a complete game.

I think this is stupid, season passes and paid DLC are bullcrap. if you pay $60 for a game you should get the game in full when it launches.

Yeah, it's the extreme of capitalism.. make games more limited in content and sell the rest through DLCs so dumb people pay more and more without understanding what's going on. Certain gamer enjoy this, cheer Michael.

Comparing a car and a video

Comparing a car and a video game.. what a smart comparison from a smart person. The car needs fuel to run, the computer game needs electricity. No one here complain about the cost of electricity, get lost on your ship.
