Nintendo Is Finally Embracing Mobile

A few months ago, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata was quite convincing in explaining why Nintendo should never abandon Hardware development and join the mobile craze. A few weeks ago, A few days ago, the company was forced to turn around its financial forecast from profit to loss.

There is nothing like a full year turned to the red to knock some sense into a company's management and make them rethink their fundamental decisions. As such, Nintendo has assured its investors that it is rethinking how to use mobile platforms to grow its business.

According to a Nikkei newspaper report translated by analyst Dr. Serkan Toto, Nintendo plans to launch a mobile initiative in 2014 where mobiles will be used to market its console games. As part of the new strategy, mobile app(s) will be used to deliver videos and news of Nintendo's new games to mobile users. The company is also open to releasing small playable versions of its console games. Those games will be free to act as demos to reel in players into purchasing the full games to play on Nintendo hardware.

Matter of Time.

So I'll say it again, since it fits. This is just the first step towards progress, defeating a futile, feeble, failed resistance. Nintendon't first, then Micro$hit & Phony to follow. All consoles perish in the future, because PCs will flourish. Natural selection bitches. TVPCs, Desktop PCs, Pocket PCs. Only the strong survive. Evolve or die.

Nintendo really had no idea

Nintendo really had no idea what they were doing when they shat out the WiiU onto the market. I mean did they really think that they could win against two of the most powerful consoles yet by using shitty old hardware? Why not just jiz in a box and say "Hey come buy the new Nintendo Jiz! It has fluid dynamics!"

Atleast Sega developed for other systems. Nintendo needs to quit hoggin good IPs and send them to better systems to make up for their loss. Yeah i understand keeping exclusives for their system but they need to realize this is a total loss now. Both new systems embraced motion gaming so developing for them would not be an issue.

apparently not now that they

apparently not now that they have to mark a loss in profit. When every kid under 14 has a smart phone it makes nintendo handhelds obsolete. (A galaxy s3 can emulate a ds/3ds easily) The only people who even care about nintendo are interested in nostalgia, Nintendo hardware is equivalent to guitar hero hardware. It belongs in the garage collecting dust until you explain to your grand kids how it was cool ONCE
