Sony registers Bioshock movie domains

It looks like finally someone has recognised the story potential for a movie franchise surrounding the Bioshock games, as Sony Pictures has just bought up several domains that suggest someone is going to make a film about the universe.

BioShock-Movie.com, BioShock-Movie.net, and Bio-Shock.net are now no longer available to any would be film makers, with Sony snatching them up. Hopefully this isn’t some power play by the Japanese company as in-fact, a sign that the movie’s production is progressing.

We’ve actually been hearing rumours about a Bioshock movie for years with continued set backs, cold feet after other films didn’t perform as expected and the general nonsense that surrounds the film industry causing problems. However now perhaps well finally get the adaptation we’ve always wanted, which from my point of you at least, I hope is under the waves, where Bioshock first started.

As beautiful as Columbia was, it’s story would be unnecessarily grand, especially for the first film at least.

If anything, Bioshock is more suited to a TV drama kind of set up. You could have a different Booker every season, with similar themes in each, but every time working through a different alternate history of the character.

Still, it looks like we’re getting a movie instead, so what would you guys like to see?
