3Dmark launched for Windows RT

Are you running a Windows RT tablet or mobile device? If you're reading this site and answering yes to that question, then chances are you wouldn't mind knowing what its capabilities are when it comes to 3D gaming.

Well now you're in luck, as Futuremark has launched a Windows RT version of its 3Dmark benchmark, letting users of the OS put their system through its paces for the first time.

"Use 3DMark to test the gaming performance of your Windows RT device, then see how it compares with other models. You can even compare your benchmark test scores with smartphones and tablets running Android, iOS or Windows," reads the announcement.

If any PC benchmarkers are wondering which parts of the latest 3Dmark will be used in the cut-down Windows RT version, it's the same ones found in the iOS port of the software: Ice Storm. This is made up of two 720P graphics test that are scaled up or down to fit your display type, followed by a physics test.

Keeping it simple, the only system requirement is a measly 146MB of installation space, which I think even the most ardent tablet user can find enough room for.

Unfortunately this is one I can't test myself as I don't have an RT tablet, but do any of you guys? If so, how does it stack up?
