DirectX 8.0 by NVidia?

This would have to be right the best video card maker aligning with the biggest crappiest OS maker in the world that would be right. Why dosent nVIDIA make its own version of DirectX this would be good as i support nVIDIA all the way.

Oh yeah, I've installed Direct X 8 and I have a nVidia card with the supposedly "designed for DX8" 7.17 driver then my system is screwed up. OpenGL won't even run now.

nVidia should be the only one making a new version of the DirectX 8.0 with 3D "stuff" hehe.. go nVidia! go go go!

Why do people always pick on Microsoft?Directx is FREE!, All these winges about microsoft are usualy running windows as an OS, I also love linux as well (I dual boot), but lets face it windows is much better.

Voodoo 3 3000 rulez. Old but cheap, fast and never crash!!!!All games work...OPEN GL rulez....Had many problems with Detonator 3 and Gforce 2, soo .....

I sold my V3 3000 and now having Creative GeForce2MX 32M DDR, which is poor in color depth. Very Dissapointing!

If you still have a Voodoo your pretty much behind times. Newer games will be devlope that will take more advantage of Gforces cards, espically when the Xbox comes out next year. If you want to brag about how great your Voodoo cards is playing old/out dated games than thats fine. I and everyone else will be playing kick *** games that are now available like Scarifice that take advantages of Nvidia GPU for the GForces cards. Sure you can play the game but you missing out on bette graphics and speed. Giants another games comming out in a couple of days.Open up your eyes and see what you are missing. Remember 3DFX quite the Gaming card bussiness. So what does that mean for all you Voodoo owners. Thinks what happen to S3 ??????

Eveyone braging about 3DFX Voodoo is better than Nvidia Gforces are really stupid. How are going to brag about a company that no longer developing gameing cards huh? Why do you think Microsoft pick Nvidia to design there video card for their X-BOX? How many developers over 150 braging about Nvidia video powers. Check the internet is out there. Spass, you wont get amazing colour depth out of a CREATIVE card, because Creative are simply over-priced and under qualitity. If you have the chance get a Gilluemot Profit 2 or Profit2 MX. Hey, I'm going to try to be objective and share some of my graphic card experiences with you (just to make this conversation seem intelligent ;) For quite some time last year, I was the happy owner of a Voodoo 3 3000. The games played fine, and I thought I had a pretty good FPS... until one day, I saw a friends computer with a GeForce card. I was dumbfounded. He had a system exactly like mine, except for the GeForce card, and that made a lot of difference. His frames were almost twice as fast as mine, and the shading was superb. After some deep, serious thought, I sold my Voodoo card, and bought my current card, a GeForce Annihilator 256 Pro :D! Now I'm happy. It hasn't disappointed me yet, and I don't think it will. Max out.

what are NVIDIA funking think, there are other video cards that can't use the directx 8. I have 3dfx voodoo 5500 and I have the mechwarrior4 game and the directX 8 is funking up my refresh rate to a point where after I play the game I have to restart the system.and my system is 1GZ AMD with 256ramNVIDIA needs to make the directX8 to the point where everyone can use it without problems
