Gamers who preordered Mortal Kombat had access to a single character "klassic" skin, which varied according to the authorized retailer the game was preordered from. Apparently this wasn't enough for a lot of fans who decided to buy the skins they miss for tens of dollars on eBay.
Of course a lot of the klassic skin codes sold for a few dollars, but some of them (especially those of reptile) sold for upward of $100 for the Xbox 360 skins and $60 for the PS3 skins.
Ironically, the Mortal Kombat's co-creator Ed Boon has decided to pack all seven "klassic" character skins (for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Ermac, Mileena, Jade, and Kitana) and three "klassic" fatalities (for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile) into the game's first DLC.
The DLC will be sold for $4.99 (400 Microsoft Points) and will be released on June 7th, 2011.
It is worth noting that the PlayStation Network went offline just one day after Mortal Kombat release, which means that most code buyers didn't have enough time to download their expensive skins yet.

Why so happy with human
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onWhy so happy with human beings you've never met before getting ripped off by rich businesses? So many sad pathetic bitter people here.
Sad & pathetic
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onis a person like you who would be dumb enough to pay $ for a new costume for your video game character.
Ummmm...
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onI understand your point. Nowadays people have no respect what so ever so each others. But this doesn't apply here. Have you read the article correctly? The big business as you say is selling the skin pack at 5$, ripping no one off. It was people over eBay selling skin codes to people stupid enough to willingly paying hundreds for it, so yeah, as I said, good for them.
Idiots
Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) onYou have to be a ****** to pay money for a skin on e-bay, I think the game creators found it hilarious and then decided to sell all the skins as DLC for $5. Would not surprise me if a employee of the developer also made a bunch of extra skin codes and E-bayed them himself.
