Legend entertainment have put an end to the speculation by announcing the official release dates for Unreal II. The game will be released, in the U.S., on February 4th and in Europe on the 7th of the same month.
The story of the Unreal series of games could be described as The Tale of Two Games. Unreal was the first title to seriously challenge the, at the time, complete dominance of Quake. The game gradually grew in popularity and its creators made sure that they met every Quake move with one of their own. So when Quake 3 Arena was released, Legend followed with Unreal Tournament, a game which firmly positioned the series as the hardcore gamers choice. That particular game also became a favorite for benchmarking systems.
Unreal 2 will please both the online and the offline player and will attempt to cash-in on all aspects of gameplay which have made these two tiles so popular. Having had a go at the game I can only add it's worth it.
