Volition Shows Off Canceled Saints Row Undercover PSP Game

Volition worked on a PSP Saints Row game and cancelled because it didn’t live up to the franchise’s caliber.

Volition and THQ tried to port Saints Row 2 to the PSP but they soon found that its gameplay wasn’t suited for the handheld. The companies decided to enlist a third party game studio to develop Saints Row: Undercover specifically for the PSP. Even with Volition’s help, the third party studio failed to deliver a game worthy of Saints Row reputation. Volition and THQ decided to bury Saints Row: Undercover and never to acknowledge its existence.

Fortunately, a couple of new employees discovered the game in the Volition’s vault and convinced management that it was worth sharing with the fans.

The team will also live-stream the game on the Volition Twitch channel on January 28th.
