Gothic 1 Remake’s lockpicking minigame is intentional and well-designed in concept, but its difficulty curve and lack of accessibility options make it punishing for a wide range of players. The LockpickSettings mod gives you configurable assists including an auto solver, next-move hints, and displayed connections so you can tune the experience to your own pace. Furthermore, it is achievement safe and does not modify any game files permanently. Consequently, you can engage with the minigame on your own terms without removing it entirely.

How to Get Started

Download the Gothic1Remake_LockpickSettings_v3.1.0 file and extract it to your PC.
Extract the contents of the zip into your Gothic 1 Remake root folder:
Steam\steamapps\common\Gothic 1 Remake\

Launch the game. The mod should load automatically and produce a [LockpickSettings] Loaded entry in the UE4SS.log file.
To adjust settings, edit Scripts\config.lua inside the mod folder and restart the game to apply.
To uninstall, remove the LockpickSettings folder from the UE4SS Mods directory.

Good to Know

Requires UE4SS experimental build 3.0.1-953 or newer. The bundled version already includes this.
If you are on Linux, add WINEDLLOVERRIDES="dwmapi=n,b" %command% to your Steam launch options.
This mod is listed as incompatible with the Unlock All Chests and Doors mod and the SkillfulLocks mod.
If no [LockpickSettings] log appears after launch, the folder layout is wrong or UE4SS is not loading correctly.
