Gothic 1 Remake Mana Scales Spell Damage Mod v1.0
Gothic 1 Remake gives warriors more damage with higher Strength and archers more damage with higher Dexterity, but mages receive no scaling benefit from investing in a larger mana pool. The Mana Scales Spell Damage mod fixes this by making every point of max mana add a configurable percentage bonus to spell damage, defaulting to 1% per mana point. Furthermore, the bonus is tied to your maximum mana pool by default so spending mana in combat never reduces your damage output mid-fight. Consequently, building a large mana pool now rewards the mage with meaningful and visible scaling just like every other class.
Default Scaling
- 25 mana → ×1.25 (+25% damage)
- 50 mana → ×1.50 (+50% damage)
- 100 mana → ×2.00 (+100% damage)
- 150 mana → ×2.50 (+150% damage)
Affected Spells
- Fire Bolt, Fireball (all levels), Storm of Fire, Fire Rain
- Ball Lightning (all levels), Chain Lightning
- Ice Bolt, Ice Block, Ice Wave
- Fist of Wind, Storm Fist
- Pyrokinesis, Breath of Death, Destroy Undead, Uriziel
Why You Need This Mod
This mod is useful if you are playing a mage and want your stat investment to feel as meaningful as it does for other classes. The configurable formula also lets you switch to current mana scaling for a riskier resource-sensitive playstyle, or adjust the curve with one of the provided presets. Additionally, the actual modified damage value is visible in rune and scroll descriptions in-game so you always know exactly how hard your spells hit.
