Halo: Campaign Evolved’s default Unreal Engine settings leave stuttering, input latency, and softer image clarity on the table. Ultimate Engine Tweaks replaces the game’s Engine.ini with a custom configuration refined across 50 or more Unreal Engine 5 titles. It ships in two variants depending on whether your setup supports Variable Refresh Rate. As a result, you get reduced stutter, better performance, lower input latency, and sharper clarity with no visual loss.

What’s Included

  • Definitive Engine.ini Overhaul: Rebuilds core CPU, GPU, RAM, and SSD settings to reduce stuttering and improve stability.
  • Refined Upscaling and Anti-Aliasing: Optimizes DLSS and FSR upscaling to reduce ghosting and shimmering.
  • Cleaner Picture Clarity: Optimizes film grain and motion blur while removing chromatic aberration entirely.
  • VRR and No VRR Variants: Ships as two builds, one tuned for Variable Refresh Rate setups and one without it.

Why You Need This Mod

Default Unreal Engine settings rarely take full advantage of modern hardware. Additionally, stuttering and input latency can undercut an otherwise smooth campaign. This configuration addresses both issues directly. Therefore, you get a steadier, sharper experience without sacrificing visual quality.

How to Get Started

  1. Download your preferred variant and extract the archive to your PC.
  2. Check whether Variable Refresh Rate is enabled in both your GPU control panel and your display’s settings.
  3. Choose the VRR variant if it’s enabled on both, or the No VRR variant if it isn’t.
  4. Open the game once and close it, then paste Engine.ini into %localappdata%/Meteorite/Saved/Config/Windows, or into WinGDK instead of Windows for the Xbox PC version.
  5. Right-click the file, open Properties, and enable Read-Only.
  6. To uninstall, delete the modded Engine.ini file. The game reverts to defaults on the next launch.

Good to Know

Do not use this alongside other optimization mods, since conflicting Engine.ini changes can cause instability. However, it remains compatible with mods that aren’t performance-focused. Picking the wrong VRR variant won’t break anything, but matching it to your display gets the best result.
