Slay the Spire II uses card art as one of its biggest visual identity cues, and the Necrobinder’s default portraits do not give the deck the same character as a full custom art pass. The Card Portraits – Necrobinder mod replaces the Necrobinder’s card portraits with anime-style artwork while keeping the cards readable in play. Furthermore, the mod is designed to work in online co-op, so you can use it without giving up multiplayer. Consequently, the class keeps its mechanics while gaining a much more distinctive look.

What’s Included

  • About 25 anime-style portrait replacements for the Necrobinder.
  • Portrait art designed to preserve card readability.
  • Online co-op compatibility for client-side use.
  • A single mod folder that installs directly into the game’s mods directory.

Why You Need This Mod

If you enjoy the Necrobinder but want stronger visual identity on your cards, this mod gives the deck a cleaner and more animated look. It also keeps the art readable during fast combat, which matters more than flashy detail in a deckbuilder. Additionally, because the mod supports co-op, you can keep the same portraits when playing with other people.

How to Get Started

  1. Download the mod archive and extract it to your PC.
  2. Open your Slay the Spire II installation directory.
  3. Find the mods folder in the main game directory. If it does not exist, create one.
  4. Copy the NecrobinderFemPortraits folder into the mods directory.
  5. If you are updating from an older version, remove the old version first before adding the new files.
  6. Launch Slay the Spire II and start a Necrobinder run. The new portraits appear automatically.
  7. To uninstall, delete the NecrobinderFemPortraits folder from the mods directory.

Good to Know

  • This mod only affects the Necrobinder. Other classes keep their default card portraits.
  • The artwork uses a mix of AI generation, Photoshop, and manual repainting to match the vanilla style more closely.
  • Because the mod is client-side, it works in online co-op without needing every player to install it.
