If you were hoping to have Evolve pre-loaded for its release day (tomorrow) so you can get playing as soon as it's launched, well think again, as you'll need to download a further 3GB worth of day 0 patch before you can even open the game.
Unfortunately, this should come as no surprise to gamers, as almost every game now seems to launch with the need to patch up a lot of its problems. On top of that, we knew some form of big patch would come with the launch of this game, as it's open beta took place over a week after the game went gold, so of course any changes made post-beta would need to be downloaded by the fanbase, rather than printed on the discs (and digital files) by Turtle Rock.
Even though 3GB isn't as big a deal as it once was, it's still sizeable, so what can we expect from this hefty extra weight come tomorrow?
Firstly, there will be balance changes and tweaks, most notably to the recently debuted Wraith monster, which will now find it a little harder to zip away while invisible and similarly will not have quite such a spammable decoy ability.
On top of that, there will be some newly introduced elite skins for all of the monsters, improvements to level load times, better networking and matchmaking and a bunch of general bug fixes that people dug up in public play.
For those with the match-3 companion app too, you'll also be able to use it to watch replays of your favourite games too - if you link it up to your 2K account.
