Even though the recent leaks of Painkiller, STALKER and World of Warcraft have already surfaced it seems that developers have yet to find an efficient way of protecting their products.
The next game to appear labelled as a beta leak, is the much anticipated Far Cry. It appeared on Thursday and by Friday the web was filled with torrent links for Far Cry Beta V1. Apparently the version that has become available is the one issued by UbiSoft to Beta testers.
Reports on the playability of the download are conflicting and range from quite playable to completely playable.
The latest word from Megagames readers is that the leak is just a LAN based beta with 3 maps. Once unauthorized users set it up and attempt to connect they will find themselves unable to do so. In order to play Via the internet users need a valid CD Key and UBI.com registration, which is required for Beta Testers.
As you would expect, Ubisoft is currently investigating the leak.
