Far Cry Slips

Far Cry Slips

The news that Crytek's Far Cry will not be released this year but in Q1, 2004 is particularly bad for those of us who got the chance to play a version of the game at this year's ECTS. The impressive shooter has been delayed completing a trio of much anticipated 2003 titles which will now have to wait until next year.
These Big-Name delays will give some breathing room for some other hopefull games this holiday season but are bound to shake the faith which gamers had placed in the well-known names of the industry.

For Far Cry fans however, there were some consoling news as the game's publisher, Ubisoft, announced to additions to the development team. Proving that Crytek is focusing on the multiplayer side of the game, Chris Auty and Richard Tsao have joined the Far Cry team as lead multiplayer level designer and multiplayer producer respectively. Auty's name features in the credits of games such as Half-Life: Counter Strike and James Bond 007: Nightfire, while Tsao's appears in MechWarrior 4, Asheron's Call 2 and Dungeon Siege. Not too bad for a game that already looked amazing when we tried it in August.
