A couple of years ago, we were all amazed by a Minecraft add-on that created a giant full-functioning calculator. Since then, we've seen our fair share of impressive machines constructed inside the game. That said, it is quite safe to say that nothing we've seen so far can compare with "Pokémon Cobalt and Amethyst" which adds a full Pokémon game to Minecraft.
Developed by Phoenix SC, Pokémon Cobalt and Amethyst recreates the adventures and battles of its namesake game with an impressive attention to detail. The add-on took 31 months to be implemented and it introduces a brand new storyline, new Pokémon and new skills. The add-on probably takes longer to finish than the official Pokémon games as its creator estimates that it would take 60 to 80 hours to beat.
Cobalt and Amethyst is a little rough around the edges. There are some actions that may break the game altogether and the developers openly encourage you to back things up before playing. Nonetheless, it remains one of the best and richest free game add-ons available. Perhaps you should grab the game before Nintendo's lawyers take it down for good.
