PlayStation VR is set to get a brand new story-driven, shooter experience next month in the form of Farpoint. The game about travelling to a new world, battling alien menaces all through a VR headset now has a story trailer, giving us our first look at what the game has to offer.
The game makes use of the latest PSVR controller release, the Aim:
"The PS VR Aim Controller offers the most realistic and precise way to control our game," the developer at Impulse Gear said. "With direct 1 to 1 tracking, you aim in Farpoint just as you would in real life. How you hold and where you point the controller are directly matched in the game. This allows you to do things in Farpoint that just are not possible in a standard FPS game. It also provides an unbelievable sense of presence in the virtual world."
The story sees you flying aboard the most advanced spaceship mankind has ever built, before being sucked right through a wormhole to the other side of the universe. There, you and your fellow astronauts discover you are far from alone on the alien world and must salvage ancient technology to try and return home, all while battling off the ferocious presence of hostile local life.
Farpoint is set for release on May 16 exclusively on the PSVR.
