Rockstar Games announced that the long-awaited Max Payne 3 has been delayed by two months and will launch now in May 2012.
The new launch date moved the game release from this year's fiscal year to next year. As a result Rockstar parent company Take-Two Interactive changed its forecast to expect a net loss for the current fiscal year.
Hopefully, this delay would be the last in the long series of delays Max Payne 3 has seen. The game was originally scheduled for release late in 2009 before being delayed to 2010, then 2011, then March 2012, and now May 2012.
"We do not take changes to our release schedule lightly," Strauss Zelnick, chairman and CEO of Take-Two commented. "And this short delay will ensure that Max Payne 3 delivers the highest quality, groundbreaking entertainment experience that is expected from our company."
"We are confident that consumers will once again be amazed by Rockstar's ability to take interactive entertainment to another level."
