Warhorse has announced that official modding support is coming to Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.
News in brief
- The studio announced that official modding support would be coming soon on Steamworks.
- We donāt know much yet but can expect more details in the near future.
- This week a must-have mod enhancing the gameās performance also landed.
Fans clamoring for official modding support for the newly-released Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which launched on February 4, finally got an answer to their prayers. In a post on Steam, Warhorse announced that official modding support on Steamworks is coming soon.
Though the studio stopped short of providing any more information, they did have this to say: āStay tuned for more details on how youāll be able to create, tweak, and expand your medieval adventureā ā so we probably wonāt need to wait long.
According to PC Gamer, the āon Steamworksā part of the announcement could suggest that weāll see full support for Steam Workshop, something which Kingdom Come: Deliverance sadly never got. The first game saw modding tools released in 2019 via Nexus Mods, with tools used by the devs in the titleās creation.
In the meantime, weāre seeing plenty of unofficial player mods, like this weekās one from modder āChemBoy1ā which enables Async Compute to improve the medieval action RPGās performance. With Async Compute, the render pipeline runs tasks asynchronously rather than synchronously. This improves framerate by ensuring the GPU renders frames in a shorter time.
Those who have tested the mod so far have seen performance improve by between 6 and 11 percent, with no downsides.
You can download the mod from Nexus Mods. Then create a āModsā folder inside your Kingdom Come: Deliverance II folder, and extract the zip file inside the Mods folder to install it.
