Remember Besiege? It just added Multiplayer and level editor tools

Remember a few years ago when Besiege became the new darling of Reddit and other online communities? The medieval, sandbox building game allowed you to craft all sorts of wacky contraptions from catapults to ballistas and rolling, cannon firing tanks with flamethrower death chambers for just a few dollars and it was fantastic. It was still in the very early stages though and lacked a lot of important features and expanded gameplay.

That's changed a lot over the last couple of years though and with the latest update, Besiege could become a vogue title once again, as it now has both multiplayer game modes and maps and a new level editing tool.

The Multiverse update introduces both cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes, letting you face, battle and fly with both friends and enemies alike, all in levels you created if you so choose. However, there are plenty of challenges to face together and head to head in, so if you want to try and beat the game together with some pals, you can now do so.

The multiplayer modes let you invite Steam friends, or contact just about anyone for a game if you get their IP address.

In the level editor you can pick different structures from a set menu and build an environment as you see fit, then introduce soldiers and enemies to fight if you want, and set victory conditions for the level. Tutorials are in the works, so if any of it feels a little difficult to get your head around, don't worry, you'll soon be walked through it by the man behind the game.

We're sure some gamer tutorials will appear online before long too.

You can pick up Besiege for a steal at just $8 on both Steam and GoG.
