Summer Game Fest 2026 Roundup: All the Biggest Announcements and Release Dates

Summer Game Fest 2026 Roundup: All the Biggest Announcements and Release Dates

Summer Game Fest 2026 ran on June 5 and delivered more than 30 reveals in two hours. Geoff Keighley hosted the show live from the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Resident Evil: Veronica opened the evening, and Final Fantasy VII Revelation closed it in historic fashion.

In between, the show covered games across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Release dates, sequels, remakes, and long-awaited franchise returns all made the cut. Here is every major announcement from the night.

Final Fantasy VII Revelation

Square Enix closed Summer Game Fest 2026 with the reveal of Final Fantasy VII Revelation. The game is the third and final chapter of the FF7 Remake trilogy. It launches in Spring 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.

Notably, this is the first simultaneous multi-platform launch in the FF7 Remake series. Both Remake and Rebirth launched exclusively on PlayStation before arriving elsewhere. Rebirth reached Xbox Series X/S and Switch 2 only two days before Revelation’s announcement.

Director Naoki Hamaguchi and Cloud voice actor Matt Mercer took the stage to present the reveal. The gameplay footage placed the Highwind airship at the center of a fully open world. Players can fly the Highwind across the entire planet and parachute into any zone from mid-flight.

Furthermore, the reveal introduced a new Job System built on top of Rebirth’s combat foundation. This system lets characters like Tifa take on new roles outside their base class, such as Black Mage. Cid Highwind and Vincent Valentine also join as full playable party members for the first time in the trilogy.

The show also confirmed save data carry-over bonuses for returning players. Remake Intergrade save data unlocks a Chocobo and Moogle Summon Materia from the start. Similarly, Rebirth save data unlocks the Phoenix Materia at the beginning of Revelation.

Alien: Isolation 2

Creative Assembly and Sega officially revealed Alien: Isolation 2 at Summer Game Fest 2026. The survival horror sequel arrives twelve years after the critically acclaimed original. However, the setting shifts completely away from the claustrophobic corridors that defined the first game.

This time, a new protagonist navigates Kurosaki Station, a Weyland-Yutani outpost on a storm-ravaged colony planet. A new story replaces Amanda Ripley and the events of Sevastopol Station entirely. Additionally, Creative Assembly confirms the Xenomorph AI is smarter and more aggressive than in the original.

The game is currently in pre-alpha development for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. No release date is available at this stage.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin

Paramount Games Studio and Platinum Games announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin at the show. The game adapts the acclaimed dark comic series of the same name. In the story, the last surviving turtle wages a brutal revenge mission against the Foot Clan in a dystopian future New York.

Platinum Games, known for Bayonetta and Metal Gear Rising, leads development. Moreover, the studio promises fast, brutal combat that reflects the tone of the source material. No release date or platform window is available yet.

Stellar Blade: Blood Rain

Shift Up announced Stellar Blade: Blood Rain as the official sequel to the 2024 original. However, Blood Rain drops PlayStation exclusivity entirely. The studio now operates as its own independent publisher after parting ways with Sony.

As a result, Blood Rain launches simultaneously on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC from day one. The trailer introduced a new protagonist named Evie in a dense cyberpunk city setting. Her combat style leans toward hand-to-hand fighting rather than the sword-focused action of the original.

Still, Shift Up confirms the game is in early development with no release date set.

The Blood of Dawnwalker

Rebel Wolves confirmed a September 3, 2026 release date for The Blood of Dawnwalker at SGF. The dark RPG casts players as Coen, a cursed vampire-human hybrid in plague-ravaged 14th-century Europe. Furthermore, the SGF trailer revealed a surprising connection between Coen’s medieval world and the modern day.

Rebel Wolves confirmed this chapter is the first entry in a multi-installment saga. Future installments will extend Coen’s story across multiple centuries and locations. The Blood of Dawnwalker releases on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Resident Evil: Veronica

Capcom opened Summer Game Fest 2026 with the reveal of Resident Evil: Veronica. The game is a full remake of the 2000 survival horror classic Code: Veronica. It stars Claire Redfield as she searches for her brother Chris across Rockfort Island and Antarctica.

The remake targets a 2027 launch on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Capcom has not yet confirmed a specific release date or shown extended gameplay beyond the announcement trailer.

Control: Resonant

Remedy Entertainment confirmed a September 24, 2026 release date for Control: Resonant. The sequel places players in the role of Dylan Faden, the younger brother of Jesse from the original game. He faces a new paranatural crisis across a devastated, warped version of Manhattan.

Furthermore, Resonant is a melee-focused action RPG rather than a third-person shooter. This marks a significant design shift from the combat style of the 2019 original. Control: Resonant releases on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Other Notable Reveals

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance is a major paid expansion for Monster Hunter Wilds, arriving in 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Capcom confirms it introduces Master Rank difficulty, the Skybound Eyrie aerial locale, and the Elder Dragon Lao-Shan Lung.

Star Wars: Zero Company from Bit Reactor and Lucasfilm Games confirmed an August 27, 2026 release date. The tactical game tasks players with commanding a Clone Wars special operations unit across multiple planets.

ArenaNet officially unveiled Guild Wars 3 with a debut trailer at the show. The new MMO is set in the mystical region of Orr and targets PC and PS5, with a beta arriving in Fall 2027.

genDesign, the studio behind Shadow of the Colossus and The Last Guardian, showed gen ATLAS. Published by Epic Games, it is an open-world action-adventure set on an abandoned planet alongside a giant robot companion.

That’s No Moon, founded by veterans of Naughty Dog and Infinity Ward, revealed Crossfire. The single-player tactical action game features an Adaptive Cover system that adjusts posture dynamically to terrain and enemies in real time.

Mafia: The Old Country receives its first story expansion, Man of Honor, on August 14, 2026. The DLC continues the story of the Ricci crime family in 1920s Sicily.

Star Wars: Galactic Racer from Fuse Games and Secret Mode confirmed an October 6, 2026 release date. The first story trailer introduced a new cast of pod racers competing across iconic Star Wars planets.

Blood Message is a Tang Dynasty action-adventure from 24 Entertainment Lin’an and NetEase. The expanded story trailer follows a detective investigating supernatural crimes in ancient China.

Finally, 1666: Amsterdam resurfaced at SGF as a supernatural detective adventure set in 17th-century Amsterdam. Panache Digital Games and creator Patrice Désilets now offer a free 30-minute prologue on Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Bottom Line

Summer Game Fest 2026 delivered one of the strongest lineups in the show’s history. Final Fantasy VII Revelation alone made it a historic evening. The trilogy closes with a simultaneous day-one launch on every major platform, a first for the series.

However, no single game defines a show this packed. Alien: Isolation 2 and TMNT: The Last Ronin bring two beloved franchises back in capable hands. Meanwhile, Blood of Dawnwalker, Control: Resonant, Star Wars: Zero Company, and Galactic Racer confirm a fiercely competitive fall lineup.

Summer Game Fest 2026 set the agenda for the rest of the gaming year. Bookmark this page as release dates and new details continue to emerge for every game on this list.
