Valve has put an indefinite delay on the release of sexy anime title, Negligee: Love Stories while it works on a new filtering system for Steam so that that sort of content can reside on the platform, without being pushed in the faces of children and people who don't wish to see it.
The developers initially planned to launch the game on September 7, but after failing the initial quick-review process for no obvious reasons, they got in touch with Valve to find out what was wrong.
"We’re right in the middle of building some features into Steam for customers to be able to choose the type of products they see in the store," Valve told them, via PCGamesN. "Your game has content in it that needs these features to be completed and shipped first. You’ll have to do some additional store page work around describing the content in your game once we have completed those features."
The demand for change from AMD could push the game's launch back several months, according to developers. That's frustrating for them and confusing for fans, who note that Steam already contains a number of erotic titles, many of them far more explicit than Negligee. Still, Valve will Valve and it's remaining steadfast that these sorts of games need to be filtered out from the general population, whilst still being allowed to be present on Steam in general.
Bizarrely, some new erotic games are even launching in the next week, raising questions about what Negligee does differently that requires such special consideration from Valve.
Do you guys play any erotic games on Steam? How do youi feel about Valve's handling of the genre?
