The view is top-down or overhead. The best thing about Notrium beyond it being is that it's moddable. So if you've got the time and a bit of passion for creating things you can create your own mod. I hope you all enjoy the game as we spent a long time improving it :)

**correction**The best thing about Notrium beyond it being 'free' is that it's moddable. You're encouraged to go to main site for screenshots since that one being shown is seriously outdated. As before you're also encouraged to join our forum and participate in the growing Notrium community. I'll be checking the comments periodically.

Unlike traditional action games or even some adventure games you don't always start with a good weapon. You have some options. The first option is to build the weapon of your choosing once you've found the required parts. The second option is to get one of one of the creatures. if a creature is using a weapon you want, there is perhaps a chance you can get the weapon off their corpse. Weapons also have purpose beyond killing and certain weapons are useless against certain creatures and more deadly against others.

At the moment I'm working on the Modding FAQ so all the modders that have been waiting for 1.3 can get started making some impressive mods for you guys to play. After I get that done keep an eye out for the Expansion we're going to release later this year ;)Oh yeah and if you see it on any sites and there is some kind of voting we'd certainly appreciate all the positive reviews we can get :)

This is must for all game. The plot is great, the guns are great, the whole game is great! Also, the game is really difficult.I found the human campaign a bit easier, so I finished it today, and I can tell you that I only had 10 life and no food left!!!If you have a android then you have to run like crazy to find electric plants and batteries, I mean that the android's battery is lost way to fast.If you have an Alien, its all cool and nice, until you find a flamethrower-carrying enemy that can burn you to a crisp in 1 sec.The game is totally different if you chose psionic. I mean this guy cannot pick up anything! How am I supposed to fix that stupid pod if I cant carry anything???All in all:This is a great game for those who have enormous patience and hours of spare time.I think that the next version should contain some critical for me updates. Here we go...The whole problem is time, I dont like rushing like an idiot trying to find food or batteries.I think that food and batteries should be lost a lot more less than now. Also, your sight is very limited, even if it is day( except you chose alien ).Fix that. When weather is REALLY hot, you have to spend an hour under a tree to keep cold, BUT food is not enough to support you during your wait....Btw, the game is REALLY cool and everybody should download it NOW!Looking forward to a new version of it soon!

Sorry I don't drop by here more often. I do love seeing the rave reviews give and it really does make the 6 or so months we spent on development worth it.The main reason I dropped by was to inform you all that we're now on version 1.32. It's mostly bug fixes but there were some things added and it looks like there will be some other possible additions/changes.You can also look forward to an Expansion by me hopefully before or around Christmas time that will include content we didn't have time to include in the main game.So keep an eye on the main site for new versions and even releases of fanmade mods that come out.I'd like to remind everyone again that Notrium IS moddable and I'll be releasing the Modding FAQ I authored shortly.

I just wanted to inform you all that the Modding FAQ has been released. I finished it about 2-3 days ago and it was converted to pdf. You'll find it on the Notrium site. Halloween is coming up quick so I hope you all have a good holiday ;)

There is yet another patch update in the works. Among several bug fixes there is also some additions for modders. You can try out the pre-release of Notrium 1.33 here[url removed] not sure how long the link in that thread will be around.

You can't purchase it, because it's free :P This isn't a shareware game, it's freeware. Meaning you get the complete version for nothing, lucky you ;) There is also a fairly productive modding community which are also free. Happy holidays to everyone :)
