Easy Money in Sandheim:

Go to the tent in the south east corner of Sandheim when you first arrive with Jerald. There you will find a man playing a game with his back to you. Pick his pocket to earn 100 GP and then exit the town. You can keep returning and repeatedly pick the mans pockets until you have enough money to buy equipment you might need before attempting a mission.
