7 Days to Die Bigger Backpack – 72 Slots Mod v1.1.1
7 Days to Die’s default 45-slot backpack quickly fills up during loot runs, forcing constant trips back to base or awkward item juggling mid-mission. The Bigger Backpack – 72 Slots mod expands the player inventory to 72 slots arranged as a 6×12 grid, with every slot unlocked from the very start so you no longer need Pack Mule perks or pocket mods. Furthermore, the death-drop bag is enlarged to fit the full 72-slot inventory, and the mod is implemented purely via XML/XPath so it remains EAC-compatible and safe for both single-player and servers. Consequently, you can carry more loot, maintain smoother pacing on runs, and avoid losing items on death even with a fully loaded pack.
What It Changes
- Backpack size increased from 45 slots to 72 slots (6 rows × 12 columns), with the UI resized so the grid stays on screen.
- Unlocked carry capacity raised so all 72 slots are usable immediately, no perks or armor pocket mods required.
- Death-drop bag capacity enlarged to hold the entire 72-slot inventory so nothing is lost when you die.
- Pure XML/XPath configuration with no DLLs, keeping the mod compatible with Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC).
- Works in single-player and on dedicated servers when installed on both server and clients, tested on v3.0.0 b259 (EXP).
Why You Need This Mod
This mod is useful if you dislike micromanaging inventory space during exploration, POI clears, or long resource runs, especially once you reach late-game where loot volume naturally spikes. The larger backpack reduces back-and-forth trips to storage while still preserving item scarcity and loot balance, since it only affects capacity, not drop rates or stack sizes. Additionally, because it is EAC-compatible and server-side friendly, it can be safely used in co-op and dedicated environments without requiring anti-cheat to be disabled.
How to Get Started
- Download the BiggerBackpack72 V1.1.1 archive and extract it to your PC.
- Copy the BiggerBackpack72 folder into your 7 Days to Die Mods directory:
7 Days To Die\Mods\BiggerBackpack72\
- If the
Modsfolder does not exist yet, create it and then place the folder inside. - Launch the game with EAC enabled — anti-cheat does not need to be disabled for this mod.
- Start a new save for best results, as existing saves may have the Take All (R) shortcut still bound to the old capacity.
- Open your inventory in-game and verify that the backpack now shows 6 rows by 12 columns with all slots available.
- For multiplayer, ensure both the server and all clients install the same BiggerBackpack72 folder in their Mods directory.
- To uninstall, delete the BiggerBackpack72 folder from the Mods directory and restart the game.
Good to Know
- On existing saves, the Take All (R) shortcut may still behave as if the old backpack size is in place; starting a new save ensures all 72 slots are fully recognized.
- Because the mod modifies inventory layout, it may conflict with other backpack or UI overhaul mods that also change the same XML entries; avoid stacking multiple backpack mods at once.
- The included Chinese description confirms parity for players on non-English builds; functionality is identical across languages.
