The gameplay and style of Sony and Titan Studios' upcoming PSN title, Fat Princess, looks interesting and - dare I say - cute.
The objective of the game is simple and familiar: rescue your abducted princess from the hands of the enemy team. The only catch is that your adversary has will stuff her with food to fatten her up and it's going to take most of your army working together to carry her back across the battlefield.
See? Familiar CTF (capture the flag) gameplay with an interesting twist and cute style.
Not according to gals at Feminist Gamers and Shakesville blogs. "Congrats on your awesome new game, Sony", wrote Melissa McEwan at Shakesville blog. "I'm positively thrilled to see such unyielding dedication to creating a new generation of fat-hating, heteronormative assholes."
"But the only thing I can't figure out is why anyone would want to rescue a fat princess in the first place," she added sarcastically. "Since everyone knows that fat girls are unlovable human garbage at whom any sensible bloke would sooner hurl invective than cast a longing glance."
Titan Studios' art director, James Green, responded later saying: "Does it make it better or worse that the concept artist (who designed the look, characters, everything) is a girl?"
