Japanese Company Provides At Home Gameplay Tutoring

If you are tired of getting your ass kicked in games, there are a few options to consider. You may stop fighting 12-year-old Russian kids in Counter Strike, you may keep playing until you eventually get good and you can hire a professional videogame tutor to come to your home and teach you how to play.

The videogame tutoring service is set to launch shortly by Japanese company GameLesson and will offering tutoring for games including Super Smash Bros., Splatoon, Street Fighter V and Shadowverse.

The company will provide at-home tutoring for customers in Osaka and Tokyo while customer elsewhere in the world will be able to receive online training. At home sessions start at 11,000 yen (slightly less than $100) an hour and online sessions start at 4,500 yen (nearly $40) an hour. The prices are steep, but the company believes that they are justified by their tutors' skills. So far, the company has confirmed that Abadango - one of the highest-ranked Super Smash Bros. players in the world - and Haitani - one of the highest-ranked Street Fighter players in the world - will be available as instructors.

Nonetheless, it appears that a lot of potential customers aren't convinced that the tutors' reputation is enough for them to pay that high of a fee. The company announced that it is revising its pricing after receiving many complaints about it. The company also came under attack by Japanese Twitter users after finding out that its website featured fake customer reviews for the service that is not launched yet. As a result, GameLesson has decided to delay the service launch "due to various circumstances."
