Allison Road, the game that looked to offer Silent Hills fans the game/experience that they would miss out on because of the cancellation of the last Silent Hills game, has now been cancelled itself. There's not been much in the way of official word as to why, but it has been shuttered and the game will no longer come to light.
Building off of the success of the Silent Hills P.T. demo that excited horror fans around the world for its creepy, horrifying but altogether domestic horror experience, Allison Road was set to bring a new generation the real fear of a Silent Hills-like game, but now it seems that that won't happen:
"Hi all. Sadly Allison Road had to be cancelled. Statement to come in the next few days. Thx for all your support and very sad it came 2 this," reads the Tweet from the official Allison Road account.
We know why Silent Hills was cancelled: because Kojima left Konami - but this one seems bizarre in comparison, as the game had plenty of hype and would likely have sold well in the initial few days at least, regardless of quality.
But the game did look the part at least and quick gameplay footage showcases suggested it would be pretty terrifying. So what happened?
It looks like we'll need to wait and see to find out.
