AMD Slashes Prices

First of all, I currently own two PC's. One is Athlon powered at 1GHz, and one is Intel at 1GHz also. I am not posting to brag, read on...First of all, I mixed and matched components in both and I have to say that if you want raw processing power... go for intel. But if you want incredible performance and stability in the newest games, go for an athlon. Intel still comes out on top when it comes to servers and such in my book, but athlon wipes the floor with intel when it comes to the games! (This is my opinion based on personal experience)- Kibbles

Yeah Yeah, First of all Athlon Kicks Ass!! Intel PIII is just a joke when comparing to a Thunderbird Athlon.. Double the speed and divide the cost to half. That is really whats different between the two processors. I had a PIII 600 and upgraded to an Athlon 800 the difference is amazing.

Another one!!! Don't tell me P4 gonna kick ass, cuz its already f***ed up!! Without the P4 optimized software itz a ship that ran aground. If yo gonna compare P4 to AMD wait for the upcoming "ClawHammer and SledgeHammer" CPU's from AMD which are also gonna have 128 bit "core". And guess what unlike P4 theyll be backwards compatible with your pre-loved software.. Heheheheheh Intel will be really f***ed then!!!

I love my athalon 550 but if the prices are this low just how fast of a processor can i put in my old board? I checked out there web site and couldn't find specs on any of the chips clocking in over 750. well maybe i will just have to look harder.

I have a AMD 600 Duron and it cost about £70 here in the UK and find that cheep. I just cant wait for this price slash cause ill then upgrade to a GHZ for a meer £150 (NOT BAD). I would just like to take this last sentence to say INTEL suck ass and AMD rule!!!

Im another Avid UK Gamer, I bought my 1gig TBird a while back and paid a hefty £400 (with Asus mobo, Heatsink and Fan) for it and quite frankly it wipes the floor with any Intel Chip that ive seen, and for all u little kids who think Intel is still the best even with their *ahem* "new" Pentium4 i suggest u run along to Toms Hardware.com and read the p3 vs p4 vs TBird tests..... then u can say you r sorry! =P
