Gears Of War CliffyB Leaves Epic Games For Good

Cliff Bleszinski, the famous CliffyB, has left Epic Games after 20 years of being their top design director.

While working at Epic, Bleszinski helped bring some of the company's most revered franchises to life. Bleszinski's legacy includes games such as the 1990's famous Jazz Jackrabbit, Unreal Tournament, Infinity blade and Gears of War.

"I've been doing this since I was a teenager, and outside of my sabbatical last year, I have been going non-stop. I literally grew up in this business, as [Epic Games president Mike Capps] likes to say. And now that I'm grown up," Bleszinski wrote in a letter to his colleagues.

"It's time for a much needed break."

heh

So the last game he worked on that was fun (I was a teen at the time) was Jazz the Jackrabbit? That's a pretty bad legacy.

Cliff B - legend

UT series, GOW series, Bulletstorm, Lost planet 2. Not a decade ago....still current. GOW1 opened up shooter gameplay on the 360 and has led to the creation of heaps of coop games riding on its gameplay style. UT1 and UT2004 are still some of the best DM and TDM games ever.
