The name Dungeon Keeper doesn't quite carry the same strong record it once had ever since EA released that terrible cash in mobile game. However that's not to say that the original two Bullfrog games aren't still a blast to play and hold up pretty well.
With that in mind, it's good news that EA has finally added the long-ago strategy title to its On the House scheme, which means if you login to Origin right now, you can download Dungeon Keeper for free.
Originally released way back in 1997, the original Dungeon Keeper is the one where Horned Reapers are trouble making minions you can hire on, but often required building their own lair, hatchery etc. as they were so ornery; unlike the second game, when "Horny," was more of your partner in the whole evil doing process.
Of course Dungeon Keeper has been available on sites like GoG for a while now, but EA still retains the rights it seems, so is now offering it free through Origin too.
Although this certainly doesn't go far enough to erase the sour taste of that mobile, free to play spin off from our mouths, it's certainly a welcome addition the our game libraries. Oh Dark Mistresses, how I've missed you.
