Nintendo: Our Only Problem Is Anti-Gamers

As far as Nintendo Korea's chief executive, Mineo Koda, is concerned, Microsoft and Sony are no longer direct rivals for Nintendo anymore as the company is facing a single challenge right now: luring in people who have negative images of games.

Speaking to The Korea Herald, Mineo Koda, asserted that Nintendo's consoles' sales haven't been affected by the global economic downturn. "Sales of our products do not depend on whether the economy is good or not, but whether we introduce fun products or not. I realized this through my experience in the video game industry," he explained.

Speaking about the Korean market, Koda explained that it is dominated by PC and online games, but he believes that those gamers can be easily attracted to Nintendo's consoles, unlike others who already detest videogames. "As there were many violent games, many parents had negative images of games. We face a major challenge of changing those negative images," he concluded.
